J Plates’ next independent release takes a side step into more dubby territory via the 'Midnight Dubs EP’, featuring 5 tracks of dubbed out, sub bass goodness & head nodding grooves; enough to please traditional dub fans and modern dub-steppers alike.

Taking influences from early dub pioneers King Tubby & Mad Professor and blending them with the early roots of Dubstep, J Plates carves out a pocket where the two worlds happily co-exist, taking the listener on a heady, sub-filed journey in music.

Title track 'Midnight Dubs' kicks things off with classic midrange LFO supported by dubbed up keyboards and solid, weighty bass line. Brooding Dubstep orientated production 'Loose Wires’ comes in hot on it's heals with a staggering percussion groove and cold, hard hitting snare, while it’s sub bass reaches below the depths of 30Hz territory. Sombre cut 'Evening Shadows’ strips things back to bass line focus, with it's progressing arrangement reaching a climactic, almost cinematic close. Up next, ’12” Pizza Dub’ offers a more light hearted character, with it’s bouncing beat & bass line doing the heavy lifting, supported by more sample styled instrumentation. Finally, J Plates closes strong with a live dubbed version of 'Big Finger Dub' with it's flurry of spring reverb and delay soaked Drums, Synth and Organ lines to round off the release with an extended 10min cut.
